1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. Similar technologies can include local storage, pixels, SDKs, and device identifiers. They can support authentication, security, preferences, analytics, and embedded content.
2. Linkify’s current use
Linkify currently uses a strictly necessary session cookie to keep signed-in users authenticated, protect requests, and maintain account security. The core Linkify website does not currently set advertising cookies by default.
| Technology | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| PHP session cookie | Linkify | Authentication, security, session continuity, and request protection | Session |
3. Customer pages and embedded services
Customers may add maps, videos, music, social media, pixels, custom HTML, or other embedded services to bio and landing pages. Those third parties may set cookies or collect information when the content loads or when you interact with it. The customer publishing the page is responsible for identifying those services, providing appropriate notice, and obtaining consent where required.
4. Server-side analytics
Linkify records server-side events for short-link clicks, QR scans, page views, and conversions. These records may include timestamps, referrers, user agents, campaign parameters, and pseudonymous visitor or IP hashes. Server-side processing does not necessarily place information on your device, but it remains covered by our Privacy Policy.
5. Your choices
You can use browser controls to inspect, block, or delete cookies. Blocking the necessary session cookie will prevent sign-in and some security features from working. Where Linkify or a customer introduces non-essential cookies, an appropriate consent mechanism should be presented before those technologies are activated.
6. Updates and contact
We will update this policy when our use of cookies or similar technologies changes. Questions can be sent to privacy@linkify.global.
